dark matter and dark energy



The Universe which we know only  comprises 5% of total  mass and energy,  the  remaining  95% is dark  matter and dark energy .

In CERN, scientist actually trying  to form dark matter  in  LHC to  know more about it .

Lets go through the topic .

Dark Matter

The matter  we know only  comprises small amount  of  universe  (about 15%) remaining 75% mass is Dark Matter.

It is hidden mass which cannot interact with ordinary matter directly , the only  effect we know about it  is adding additional   gravity t o  stars, galaxy and other objects.

How would we discover Dark Matter  ?

Scientist had saw  that there is majority of small galaxy which do gravitational  lensing ( which only happen with heavy , big galaxy ) .They also discover  that all the stars in galaxy have almost equal revolving speed.

This contradict newton’s universal law of  gravity  ( why? , as  further  away the object  from center  slower it had to remain in orbit).

This all signify  something  is not  good , we come  up with two possibilities.

  • There is something  wrong with newton’s gravitational  law.
  • There is some  mass hidden  which add to newton’s equation.

Newton’s law is very well defined . Thus scientist  had choosen second option that there  is some hidden   mass  all  around the universe .

( we still isn’t prove it )

what we don’t know about Dark Matter  ?

  • How it  form in universe.
  • what is its fundamental properties and structure.
  • is it  interact with themself.

Dark Energy

Dark Energy  symbolis the unknown hidden  energy  present  in universe causing  it to expand, It  comprise  about 68% of total mass and energy .

It is hidden energy  which work opposite to gravity causing acceleration in expansion of  universe.

When scientist observe  the distance galaxy they surprised to see  that galaxy are rushing away  from us , there must be certain  force  or energy  which  work agains gravity  also  further the galaxy is faster is it moving away from us this emphasize energy must present  in spacetime fabric.

What we know about Dark Energy  ?

  • Repulsive in nature for masses.
  • Present in spacetime fabric  throughout  the universe.
  • Energy density  remain constant even after expansion.

Probability what Dark Energy is  ?

  • It may be fifth fundamental  force.
  • It may be the energy corresponding  to cosmological constant ( repulsive gravity type )
  • It may be just  property of  space to  form new space continuously.

Dark Matter  and Dark Energy remind as that  we are beginners in journey  to the universe and there is millions of  secret  waiting to be discover .
